PBDH was present at the XXVII Aquaculture Seminar

May 28, 2025

The Portugal Blue Digital Hub (PBDH) attended this event to reinforce its commitment to digital innovation in the blue economy sector. On 16 May, the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF), located in Quinta de Marim, Olhão, hosted another edition of the Aquaculture Seminar. This event is a benchmark on the national scene and is promoted by the Portuguese Association of Aquaculturists.
The 27th edition, the seminar featured a technical and diverse programme, addressing key issues for the sustainable development of aquaculture in Portugal, including:
  • RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture Systems) technologies;

  • The heritage and history of the Almadravas;

  • Support available under the #Mar2030 programme;

  • Oyster production in Portugal.

The PBDH was represented by Rodrigo Oliveira, PBDH Project Manager, and Cristiano Vieira, from ISQ, the project's consortium partner, represented the PBDH. Their
intervention focused on the PBDH's mission as a digital innovation hub for the blue economy.
PBDH's participation in this seminar was a strategic opportunity to strengthen the dialogue with aquaculture stakeholders and present technological solutions that support the modernisation, sustainability and digitalisation of the sector, namely through specialised training and the promotion of new digital skills.
