The Portugal Blue Digital Hub (PBDH) participated in the 16th meeting of the Marine Spatial Data Infrastructure Working Group (MSDIWG 16) of the International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO), held at the Hydrographic Institute of the Portuguese Navy in Lisbon.
The meeting, which is of great importance to the international community in the field of maritime data management, had as its main objective to promote the search for, access to, interoperability and re-use of marine geospatial data, which are essential for a more sustainable and safer use of the oceans.
In his speech, Rodrigo Oliveira, PBDH Project Manager, emphasised the strategic role of the project for the future of the Blue Economy. He highlighted how PBDH is driving the digital and environmental transformation of the maritime sector by promoting entrepreneurship and technological innovation based on Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Big Data. He also emphasised the PBDH's contribution to attracting investment and building digital capacity in the blue ecosystem.
The PBDH's active participation in this international event reaffirms the project's commitment to leading initiatives that promote ocean sustainability through digitalisation, innovation and global collaboration.
