On 18 and 19 November, the Portugal Blue Digital Hub (PBDH) was present at the Madeira Blockchain Conference 2024, a benchmark event in the technological ecosystem dedicated to blockchain. Rodrigo Oliveira, Project Manager of the PBDH, participated as a speaker and gave a presentation entitled “Portugal Blue Digital Hub: Revolutionising the Blue Economy”. During the presentation, PBDH's role as a digital innovation hub in the Blue Economy was highlighted, with a focus on:
Promoting digital and environmental transformation, integrating new technologies to respond to the challenges of the Blue Economy;
Stimulating entrepreneurship and the creation of advanced technological solutions such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Big Data;
Attracting foreign investment and creating opportunities for the development of digital skills.
Among the outcomes highlighted at the conference, Rodrigo Oliveira mentioned
Ocean Big Data Platform: a secure and transparent solution that integrates relevant maritime data and promotes its use for more efficient and informed management of maritime resources;
AI Blockchain Platform: an innovative tool that combines the power of Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain to optimise processes and promote sustainability and efficiency in the Blue Economy.
The Madeira Blockchain Conference served as a stage to reinforce PBDH's position at the technological forefront of the Blue Economy, demonstrating how Blockchain-based solutions can be applied in a practical, secure and effective way to accelerate innovation in the maritime sector.
PBDH reaffirms its commitment to promoting new technological solutions, supporting the demonstration of disruptive technologies and collaboration between stakeholders to strengthen the Blue Economy ecosystem in Portugal and beyond.
