Portugal Blue Digital Hub participates in the Portugal Smart Cities Summit 2024

October 11, 2024

On 8, 9 and 10 October, the Portugal Blue Digital Hub (PBDH) was present at the 10th edition of the Portugal Smart Cities Summit, which took place at the Lisbon International Fair (FIL). This event, which has established itself as the main national meeting point for the discussion and presentation of innovative solutions for the development of smart cities, brought together public and private organisations and innovative regions in a space for exchange and collaboration.
PBDH, part of the Smart Portugal Pavilion, led by NOVA IMS - Information Management School, part of the project consortium, presented its strategy and initiatives for digitalisation and environmental transition in the context of the Blue Economy. The presence at the Smart Portugal Pavilion allowed PBDH to interact with a diverse ecosystem of innovation actors, promoting synergies and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
On the second day of the event, the PBDH initiative was highlighted with the presentation of a pitch by Rodrigo Oliveira, which took place on the stage of the Smart Portugal pavilion. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of developing new solutions based on Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Big Data in the context of the Blue Economy.
The Portugal Smart Cities Summit is more than just a meeting about mobility or digital platforms - it's a real focal point for creating opportunities for the national and international market, promoting research, and education and creating businesses that shape the future of cities. The event focused on how new technologies can improve the quality of life in cities, promoting greater sustainability and resilience.
For the Portugal Blue Digital Hub, participating in the 10th edition of the Portugal Smart Cities Summit was an excellent opportunity to reinforce its mission of digital and environmental transformation, establish new links with relevant stakeholders and increase recognition of its role in developing a smarter and more sustainable future for maritime and urban areas.
Looking to the future, the PBDH will continue to promote the digital transformation of the Blue Economy, helping to position Portugal as a global benchmark in the development of innovative solutions.
