The PBDH promoted an initiative dedicated to access to Test Before Invest opportunities at the Infante D. Henrique Technological Regulatory Sandbox of the Portuguese Navy, strengthening the connection between companies, innovation ecosystem entities and the Portuguese Navy.

PBDH participated in Conferência Cidade Azul 2026, organised by Público, with the workshop “Blue Biobanks Digital Research Platform: um portal para a Economia Azul”, held on 22 April, Earth Day, at the University of Aveiro.

On 5 and 7 May 2026, the PBDH will promote the workshop "The Nautical Stations Network and the Digital Transformation of the Nautical Portugal Platform", an initiative dedicated to the digital evolution of a strategic tool for the enhancement, management and promotion of the national nautical offer. The workshop will take place online and is aimed at all those interested in following this digital transformation process.

On 31 March, the Auditorium of the Ílhavo Maritime Museum hosted the event Azul Digital – Digital Solutions for the Blue Economy, organised within the framework of the Portugal Blue Digital Hub (PBDH). The initiative brought together representatives from businesses, academia and public entities to reflect on the present and future digital landscape of the ocean economy, in a moment of knowledge-sharing, solution showcase and strategic debate around innovation in the sector.

Portugal Blue Digital Hub (PBDH) has launched an Open Call aimed at European start-ups and SMEs developing dual-use BlueTech solutions with applications in the Blue Economy, maritime operations and defence contexts.

The PBDH has launched Academia Digital Blue, an e-learning platform designed to support the digital upskilling of professionals and organisations within the Blue Economy sector. Serving as a new training tool for the sector, the platform aims to promote digital literacy, foster innovation, and strengthen the essential skills needed to address the challenges of the digital and environmental transitions.
